Ah, how the ice appeared to shine in the sunlight. Or was that the snow?
His two black paws sunk low into the blanket of white substance that had covered the land, little toes wriggling. He had come out here just to sight see, not really intent on hunting. He would have to find an area where the ice was thin, break it, then go 'ice fishing', as some called it. But it was much too early and cold. Besides, there were other means of grabbing a meal or two. With a yawn loud enough to match a lions roar, Blackspot launched himself from the snowy embankment, hopping his way up the small hill. He found it much easier to move this way, despite the fact that he could just plow through the snow with his body size. Although, jumping does make me feel like a kit, he mused to himself, pausing to give his fur a shake. If it weren't for his black spots, he'd blend right into the snow.
Thoughtfully, the tom lifted his head to stare at a large tree, covered by snow. The very image was truly beautiful, if not peaceful, and he would have stayed to stare a little bit longer were it not for the fact that his rump was growing icy. Shaking his paws with each step, the tom continued his trek back to camp. Maybe he would stop and try to hunt something, if there was anything to hunt. He was used to fishing, not chasing after little forest creatures.
